  I stayed at this lovely cottage in August. It is full of character but modern too. I especially liked the kitchen with it's inglenook fireplace with a sofa tucked in. A lovely place to curl up in after a busy day. The cottage is spotless,very well equipped and very spacious. We had a day out exploring the Roman Wall and the new Sill Centre which is easy to get to from Wark. On the Sunday the weather was glorious so we had breakfast in the suntrap rear courtyard. We had a walk along the river at Wark (very picturesque) then we went for Sunday lunch at the Black Bull pub which is one of the three pubs in the village. The meal was delicious and the pub has a large beer garden which we sat in for a couple of drinks in the sun. All in all it was the perfect place for a country break. We will definitely be back.
